$40 for a mousepad!!?? THAT'S OUTRAGEOUS!
Mine was $50.
Then again, it is glass.. And I like to spend more money on things than is necessary..
Anyway, I wouldn't bother with those razer mice.. They don't fit in your hand as well as some other mice, notable are the logitech mx518, g5, and g7. Hell, I'd even take the mx700 over a razer (not that the mx700 is bad.. I actually have one and love it.. But I use my g7 for gaming more).
Anyway, it all depends on what you like really.. My personal preference is cordless and comfortable in my hand. The high sensitivity on the G7 is just an added bonus for me, as that's what I like to use. Go to Best Buy and check out the way the razers feel.. Some people like it, alot (such as myself) don't. If you don't like it, look at the g5 and g7 - they're both awesome. 2000 dpi laser engine, and on-the-fly sensitivity switghing (buttons on the mouse that switch the sensitivity to one of 3 different customizable levels) really make these mice stand out. Go with the g7 if you've got the money, but if not, the g5 is the same exact thing but corded and has a weight cartridge so you can customize the feel of your mouse.
Hope this helped
