If it makes you feel safer, then YES, if not, then NO. Personally, I would go with a 1 year warranty minimum...but I don't think I would ever go more than 2 years because that is as long as I would expect to keep a laptop before upgrading.

pick whichever makes the most sense for you. If you plan to get a new laptop next year, then one year is fine. If you are going to keep that machine for a while then you might want to get a longer warranty...it's just an insurance policy incase something goes wrong. Get the one that makes the most sense for you financially and in terms of security. Two years was the sweet spot for me because I figure I'll get a new machine after two years.

Also, you seem new to Alienware and are definately new to NBF, so Welcome to both. We're glad to have ya'.

Just so you know, all the warranty options offer the same service, just for different lengths of time. None of them are "better" than another, just longer or shorter.

If you paid with American express, like I did, they double your warranty, so I have 4 years in total of a warranty, and Amex will give me the total amount of what my laptop cost. yay

It definately is...I think it is one of the most important things you can do to protect your computer, and your investment...
