I9300 FOR SALE (and then some)

Thread Starter
Well I have 3 notebooks and its time to put one up for sale. Specs for 2 of the 3 systems are listed below. I’m willing to sell the systems as any combination of parts e.g. (1.6 GHz CPU + 7800 GTX) and adjust prices accordingly

I only intend to sell one of these systems as I’m still a computer junky and need at least 2 (acceptance the 1st step ) (may sell both if offers are fair)

Update: 3/01/06
SOLD

(STILL) selling some related items individually

(if your looking for a Dell TV tuner + MEC remote drop me a PM)

Update:1/25/06
As of today (Wednesday, January 25, 2006) Dell no longer has the NVIDIA GeForce 6800 as an option, only the much less capable ATI™ Mobility Radeon™ X300, if you would like a notebook that is on par for gaming and has over 3 hours of battery life the 6800 maybe the option for you

Update: 1/27/06
As of 1/27/06 the sub $300 price tag on 7800GTX form Dell has been terminated (Source: Dell sales repp supervisor) however the modded I9300 I’m selling is still priced as that of a system with an under $300 7800GTX

Q&A

Q: Are the 7800 gtx's for the 9300 and if so would you do 270 shipping included?

A: The 7800gtx is for the XPS Gen 2 and XPS 170 but it will also work with the 9300 if you have a 130w power adapter and 9cell battery. You will also need the hacked BIOS

This price is W/O shipping but I will only charge you the actual price of the shipping method of your choice

Thanks Lou

Q&A

Q: Is this new or used. If it is used could you give me some numbers it posted?

A: These cards were ordered through dell spare-parts (On the boxes of the cards I’ve received to date there has been a label “THIS PACKAGE MAY CONTAIN EQUIVALENT TO NEW PARTS”) this has been talked about in the forums and it is said to be unlikely that the cards are in fact used (however not impossible)
http://www.notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=120789 .

The cards that I’ve received appear new as there is no trace of dust, fingerprint, or scuff marks on screws.

I understand you’re concern about the possibility defect as I had the same concerns when purchasing.

OPTIONS:

1. Per your request I can test the card for you in the manner of your choice

2. If you would like the card that has been running on my 3rd system for about 2 ½ weeks this card is in perfect condition and has not been altered (thermal grease or over clock)

Worst case scenario the cards that I’m selling now were received a week ago and have a 90day warranty (this warranty would be extended if your system natively supports the 7800gtx e.g. XPS Gen 2 & 170) and if you were to have difficulties within this time you could send the card back to me and I would attempt to have it replaced

Conditions:
The card cannot be modified in ANY way
Any shipping costs would be paid by buyer

Q&A

Q: are you willing to trade the higher end 9300 for a
SFF desktop? j/W http://www.notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=118605

A:
I’m not currently in the market for a desktop. Your system does however look first-class. I hope you don’t mind me linking to your system in case someone else may be interested in a desktop.

To those who have made offers, thank you for taking the time to do so. And good luck with finding a buyer/trader.

And to those who are interested and have not made an offer yet, please feel free to

Memory
256MB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz 2 Dimm (Dell Stock)

Q&A

Q: Q - Are you the same guy that tried to shill his auctions for these same laptops on ebay and failed?

A - Yes.

A:

Hi BigTymer, the answer is NO, I’m not the guy who is selling systems on eBay, in my post it clearly says I’m selling here at the forums 1st.

I have a few questions for you , what would make you automatically assume two completely different things are related? (Evidence / logic / reasoning?) Is it that you just wanted to feel like a “big – tymer”. I would not post the next question for you if I did not feel your post was intended to be malicious

Q:
is big(Flamer)Tymer talking out of his and clearly infringing on forum rules

A:
yes, and that’s why he’s been reported

* Except as noted, thread crapping will not be tolerated. If you are not interested in buying or selling, or you have nothing positive to say, STAY OUT OF THE THREAD! If you think the asking price is too high, or you want to make a lowball offer, contact the seller via email or PM.

* Some reasons why "thread crapping" may be ok:

o If you are positive the person is a troll. If you're not sure but 'think' they are, PM us, or contact the Trollhunters.
o Making a newbie aware of the rules (but do so politely).

Sorry folks it’s a no go on the G70, the sales rep priced it all out, and at the last min it would not fly. Her supervisor says they were specifically told that they are no longer allowed to sell it

For those who received the G70 from me, congrats you may have received the last ones at a sub $550 price tag (at least for now)

And for the people who are still looking for one. I still have a system for sale with one in it

Q&A
Q:
How much for the i9300 with the best specs? Can you ship international?

A:

I’ve not adjusted my prices since the recent stop of the 250+ 7800 GTX as others have (understandable so) thus this systems price reflects that of a stock systems with a 250+ 7800GTX (if this is changed at a later date I will adjust it in the initial post)

(update coming)
To be honest I’m not sure at this time if I can ship the system internationally, I’m currently in the process of finding this out. As when I purchased the system I clicked a box agreeing that the system would not be shipped outside of the US and I’m not sure what legal ramifications can come of said action.

If anyone happens to know this and can link me to some information the help would be greatly appreciated
