Hi everyone,
I have a problem with the 56k smartlink modem (sm5603). I experience a lot of timeout and disconnections and updating modem drivers just made things worse as I had to go back to the driver downloaded through Win update. Also, when I try to connect I can hear a double tone as if two different devices had opened the connection. The modem passed the 3 first diagnostic checks (in the SM utility on the control panel) but when it comes to check the dialtone with an ISP number it says that there is something wrong between my motherboard and the modem that prevents this latter from working properly. I suspect that it is a hardware problem....
Should anyone have hints I would be grateful.
ciao
