Can't upgrade to 8x.xx 7800 drivers

Thread Starter
Got a new 9750 and trying to upgrade to the 81.12 drivers or whatever, but i can't. Each time I try to, I download the 20mb file, open it and it says that it can't detect any hardware that matches the driver files.

if i try to manualy add new hardware when i get to the selection to install from a specific location it doesn't see any drivers there, dito if i go the long route and try to install with the "have disk" option. Doesn't matter which driver i try none of the 8x.xx ones work, i keep getting the same error.

Download the LaptopVideo2Go *.inf that is modified to work with laptops.
http://laptopvideo2go.com/infs/80ser...f/nv4_disp.inf
and replace it with the one in your extracted files folder.

I downladed the .inf and put it in the extracted nvidia files. I then deleted the original and tried to install. I keep getting this error message "cannot copy file nvhwvid.dll". What am I doing wrong here?

Kenway,
Who did you purchase your 9750 from?
Did ask the place where you purchased your 9750 how to install driver?
Were they helpful?

Just curious why you had to go to forum and not dealer where
you purchased your system...

I'm thinking of getting 9750 from pctorque ~ $4800 and
i'd like to be re-assured that if i had a simple problem
as you described, they'd have an answer and i'd not
be forced to go to a forum to get it answered

Try redownloading the drivers. Sometimes the bug are not worked out when they are first posted.

He need to get drive cleaner pro (free), boot in safe mode, run the nvidia. Then he should do the install. No issues at all with the driver update...
