USB and cracked hinge repair

My USB problem has started getting worse so I thought I would go ahead and contact BB/Geeksquad for repair. The agent at this BB stated that they have never had a eMachines returned due to the cracked hinges or one that had USB problems. Says that the repair will take at least 3 weeks - something I cant live with.

My question to all is has anyone came up with a fix for the USB/external powered hub problem?

Also I have read several comments that say the cracked hing is structural and several that say it is cosmetic only. Does anyone know for sure

What's the external powered hub problem? I use a 7-port Belkin with my 7405gx all the time, no problems...

Whenever I have to reboot the laptop when it has warmed up the USB port that I plug the powered hub into will not initialize. Actually the powered hub will not work in any of the USB ports after robboting while warm. I have to wait 30 minutes or more and restart the laptop

Hey Seca,
I had the USB issue on my 6805.
They replaced my motherboard to repair it (under warranty).
