I have a laptop which uses a Promise SATA controller that has two regular PATA notebook drives attatched with a PATA to SATA converter. I want to make the two drives run on the PATA controller instead of the SATA controller. Is this possible? I don't want to bother opening it up if it's not going to work. :/
Thanks in advance,
Shmenge
Edit - I ordered mine with only one CD drive, could I put another HDD in the bay undeaneath it and use that as PATA?
Edit2- Supposedly theres a way to switch from SATA mode to IDE mode in the BIOS, but the notebook BIOS is much more limited than a regular ATX motherboard, and I see no such option. Is there an F key that lets you into the promise controllers BIOS?
