7422GX Replacing DVD Burner Help or Gudie

Hey All,

I got a new DVD Burner Opitcal Driver for my 7422GX laptop from gateway because mine stpped working. Can anyone help me with a link to a guide to show steps on how to open up the bottom of my laptop and replace the drive? Gateway did not send any instructions with the new drive.

Any help would be greatly appericated!

Very easy, flip laptop over and remove the two screws near the drive. If in doubt remove 3-4 screws near the drive, that way you can't go wrong. After that you pop open the drive and use the drawer to pull the drive out of the laptop.

What kind of drive did you get? Also, do you know if it was set to Master or Slave?
