Which screen to get

I was trying to decide which screen to get WSXGA or WUXGA on a CX7. It will be used for mostly gaming and internet (with a little office work also) (will the high res WUXGA slow down games alot). I also see the response time is high on these laptop screens and was wondering if I will miss my 8ms 17" LCD?

Hi again Splurch, I went with the 1680 x 1050 on my CX7 and I couldn't be happier with the choice. It is bright, very vivid and performs great with the games I play (all the latest FPS) at native resolution. I get 110-130 frames per second average in counter-strike: source even in a firefight on Office which is heavy for physics as maps go with stuff flying everywhere. Worst case I have ever seen is 80 frames per second while I was scanning for spyware in the background. Good luck on your purchase.

I had originally gone with the WSXGA, but due to some dead pixel issues and availability of screens, I had them change it out for the WUXGA. In both cases, I would have changed the resolution anyways as the smaller resolution just doesn't do anything for my eyesight.

I believe both of these will be great for you, but you may find the WSXGA a bit more comfortable.

Good luck.

Does the WUXGA make games look any better?

wuxga is better, and you wont really run games at those monitors native resolutions anyways, so it doesnt matter. i went wuxga. games are gorgeus on it. my desktop looks sweet too.

strip the alx ouyt of its sick case and trow it in a box ducktaped to your monitor. tack on a keyboard and gyration mouse, and an array of car batteries and ur set. u dont need hyper for that do u?

Then I could call myself and give myself reasons for delaying delivery of the system to myself for a couple months . . .
