Laptop delivered, not ordered by me?!?!?1 - Page 4

if you wouldve read, i posted several times i would tell everyone what it was when i found out.

i have also stated that it is not me in the situation, but a friend. i also really dont see your need to "justify" my situation or thread posts. i have said numerous times i would do what i could to get it back to dell, and then keep it only as a last option. keeping it is not an option to me, in fact i have NO options in the situation.

i do believe there would be legal consequences if she kept it and didnt "try" to return it.

but again, if it were me, I DAMN SURE WOULD HOPE I COULD KEEP THAT MOTHA (:

If you didnt want to keep the product, then you had to go through an arduous proces of replying with the enclosed forms and typically you paid a shipping charge.

below is a snippet of a suggestion, you can google the actual law.
whatever. you should have googled the law before you posted something you didn't know about in the first place. the bottom line, again, is the package is not hers, and second she should ensure her personal information has been safeguarded.

BTW, advising or inciting someone to commit a criminal offense is against the law as well.

well then aparently 50% of the posters on here committed a crime.

i have told her to do what she can to deliver it to dell.
i am breaking NO laws by giving advice, no matter what the advice is. How can there be a law against inciting someone to commit advice?

i agree with you 10000% LB

umm, again, I knew the law. You are the one who quoted something ridiculous about laws being diff in each state. Theres one law regarding US post. I suggested the person do what was legally in the law. I even posted a suggestion by a lawyer.

I wouldn't take it to the police station. Probably one of the policemen will get his girlfriend to claim it as hers and the proof that is hers will be conviniently lost if you ask to see it.
What people were really wanna know is what the specs are? Dual SLI 7800? Dual Core?

first, if you read the posts, you would see that the item was delivered via UPS. Even if dell did ship the item via USPS, laws pertaining to lost and found items DO vary from state to state and locality no matter how much you "think" it may not.

second, you first posted some idiotic thing you saw on television, then you changed it with something you googled.

I suggest you do some further research and read the posts before you start firing at the hip with something you know nothing about.

? ? ?
what is the malfunction? I didnt google or change anything. I stated a commerical that advertised a new law. nothing ridiculous again.

I merely stated you can google the law after posting a suggestion by a lawyer.

shipped via ups, not usps. laws for usps dont pertain to ups.

i have only one question.

whats the system specs?
This thread is nuts, guy asks for advice and people jump his case.

If it were me, I'd do as the rationals have suggested, follow up to find out if it's the result of some identity theft. I'd also bug the hell out of Dell to find out what they know about who ordered it. partly to find out if there is risk of something to the person who had the package dumped at herr house, and partly because there might be somebody out there bugging the hell out of Dell trying to find out where their desktop is. If my PC ended up at the wrong door, then I'd probably getting a runaround and finger pointing betweeen the Dell and UPS.

So chevy, let us know when you have a status update, and do not post the system specs. And thumbs up to you and her for having some integrity.
