A 2.1 Ghz 400 FSB would be pinmodded to (21x133)=~2800

So unless you plan on liquid cooling that thing and pump massive amount of voltage to it, it's not going to do ditly.

i was looking at http://www.notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=114523 /in other words "extreme pinmodding guide" and he said some guy did it with the 2.0ghz chip and it worked.

plenty of people do it in desktops where they have liquid cooling and such, there it will work, in a lappy it won't.

If you get a 400fsb Pentium M it will. best chances of success are either the 1.6 or 1.7.

I am positive, yes. If you buy a 400mhz FSB Pentium M, you can pinmod it. You will not be able to pinmod the 2.13 that you have right now; unless you can get ahold of that one guy (that anybody knows of, and is in Japan right now), to tell you how to do it. Not to mention the fact that he was not even the one that did it, his contact at Dell did, and he will not share what was done for fear of his contact losing his job for leaking. Also to mention the fact that he doesn't speak English last I heard.

If you want to try to get ahold of him and get him to tell you how to do it, be my guest. Otherwise; join the rest of us and pinmod a 400mhz Dothan.

There was a guy on xtremesystems that DID do a 2.0->2.66 in a laptop (might have been a 9300). However, it needed 1.6v+ to get there and ran at about 75C. Not good for the life of the chip . And so far, we haven't had any confirmation that a 533->667 is possible, so I can only recommend a 400->533 for now.

yea and its even hard to get a 1.8 to work lol

ya i read about that and after he did it to 2.66, he tuned it down to 2.53 and said it never went above 65C....so i dont know...if i find a chip cheap enough ever ill maybe consider trying a 2.0 maybe even the 2.1 but until they go down in price, im not gonna go buy a $500CAD chip and have it blow up in my face
