Problem with 3dMark05 score with 9750

My system:

9750 (D900k)
X2 4600
1gb ddr400 pc3200 ram
2x 100gb 5400rpm sata drives
nvidia 7800 go gtx
81.98 drivers with performance inf
Set to always on
powermizer set to max performace (plugged in).

I ran 3dmark05 with 79.xx drivers and I got: 4638.
I ran 3dmark05 with 81.12 with performance INF and I got: 5067
I ran 3dmark05 with 81.98 with performance INF and I got: 5071

I checked cpu overheating and my idle temp is about 45c, full load about 57c. Could the GPU be the problem with why I am getting such poor scores? In another thread a person with a x2 4400 got 6900 something. Why could i be getting such poor scores?

** Update: I defraged my harddrives and increased pagining files from 500mb to 1500mb and then ran 3dMark05 and got 6642. Could another gb of ram (for 2 gbs total) get me to 6900-7100 range?

forget that 3dmark crap and just play games

no dont forget it. That is stupid advice. I got 4k at first. Then games confirmed something was f'd up. I called Hyper, then sent new videocard. Now I get 7600 on 3dmark05 and games rock. Synthetic benchmarks are good to tell you everything is working about how it should.

I would agree with Super if you were off by a hundred or so, but in the 1000s is a concern.

I'd definitely call about that. The system RAM is not the limiting factor, and even if it was, it wouldn't kill the performance by that much (1000's of points).

well I ran it yet again, after getting 6642, and I got 6936 (after I stopped every non-vital process from running). I feel like this score isn't something I need to worry about.

Are the video cards on the 9750s user replaceable?
