... or it will be once someone tells me how.

Basically what I want to know is what you need to do/buy/connect to upgrade a i9100 hard drive, but copy over the other one's data. Provide links to products if you can.
Thanks so much guys!

1) remove the hard drive

3) remove the connector from the back of the hard drive - because you need to install it on the replacement hard drive.
4) replace the hard drive and reuse the connector.
5) screw the sardine can back together.
6) reinstall the new hard drive in the notebook

Option steps:

step zero (comes before step 1) Ghost your existing hard drive. Where you save the Ghost image to is up to you -(ie: external USB drive)

Create a bootable Ghost floppy, USB stick , or CD for doing the restore - and make sure that it works.

7) Use your Ghost floppy, USB stick , CD to restore your hard drive's OS and everything else.

If you don't do steps 0 & 7 then you'll need to replace step 0 with - make a backup copy of all you critical files. Replace step 7 with - insert your OS install CD and reinstall the operating system, all your applications, and restore your critical files from the backup that you made.

If I read you post correctly, you were also looking to transfer the information. Easiest way is to buy a small 2.5" USB enclosure from your local store or online. When you take out your current HD, plug it into the enclosure. Then put the new one into your laptop. Once you've installed the OS you can transfer all the information across to your new one.

Good Luck
