Okay so i took screenshot while in GuildWars in approx same location:

HighQuality setting:

HighPerformance setting:

I can't really tell any difference maybe with one of the two newer drivers you can but just wanted to show screenshot of approx. same spot one with HighPerformace and one with HighQuality set.

well actually u can see it in the top of each screenshot at that moment and they were the same but high quality does drop lower at times then compared to high perf, i keep it at high perf since i dont really see much difference

I have to admit that I rarely notice anything other than major graphical issues in games. As long as it all looks "good", lack of AA is one of the only things that catches my attention.

you gain ~10fps with high performance in certain games if you use high AF.

one thing not in these screenshots is people or monsters. I would be willing to guess the quality of those characters is visibly different, most likely the detail of armor etc.

Stupid question but how did you get the FPS?

yo whisper smiting inc.. or hex runner.. i have two accounts.. id love to play with a fellow forum member.

also... no matter what you sey AA on in the nvidia control panel the game will ignore it. make sure in the options menu in game you put AF on 4x. looks like you have already. also guildwars may be ignoring the texture settings you set in the control panel as well and using its own detail level from the options menu.

just a thought.

Fraps and download the free version. Displays FPS, Timed Screenshots (ie every 5, 10,22 seconds), 60 Second Movie Capture, Overlay Options, Detailed Benchmark Statistic and more... err maybe that covers it.

not a stupid question at all, hate using other programs to monitor fps, but this game is one that u have to goto game shortcut properties and add "-perf display fps" without quotes right after all the stuff in target box
