Hi all,
After a two month debacle with my 8790 flying from coast to coast, from insurance company, to repair company, and finally back to sager, I have finally discovered that the reason my system wouldn't start up was a faulty 256 RAM stick. I actually had to send it to sager to find that out, I feel like an idiot for not checking that myself
, and even my insurance company told me that it was a faulty mobo that they couldn't fix. So, my question is, how should I go abouts buying memory? There was a post about a month ago on a similar topic, but it only said so much. Do I need a particular brand? What specs does it need? So far I've found that it needs to be Equal to or less than DDR400, SO-DIMM 200 pin, but what about CAS timings? Does it matter if I get 3 or 2.5? Lastly, for the Dual Channel setup, both of the sticks have to be the same exact type, right? If so, I think I might just be better off getting 2 new 512 sticks for $70, sager wanted to charge me $85 for a 256 stick, and I said I'd get it myself.
I turn my question to the wise sage-like inhabitants of notebookforums!

P.S. Right now I'm looking at buying two sticks of this:
