Are there different versions of XPS 2 LCD cover?

How does the back of LCD look like on the XPS? All I have seen in person for now are the ones with personalized cover.

If there isn't cover on it, is the surface flat or is it ribbed?

The reason I'm asking is because I believe that XPS is a perfect painting platform. Most of it is black including the front of LCD and the hinge covers.
If the back of LCD and palmrest were painted, thing would look absolutely amazing. Once I sell my 9200 and get some money, I'm thinking about doing XPS 2.

The surface of the M170 / Gen 2 is perfectly flat. The part that you think could be 'ribbed' is actually a swirled metal finish that has a glassy finish. The back of the LCD is so beautiful that you'd really waste a great design by painting over it.
