Finally got my Laptop up here to Mosul and am really impressed with the quality of the machine. I really have not had much time to mess with it so I will just give my first impressions. It is really not that loud, I was expecting to need earplugs from what some of you are saying and that is just not the case. In fact, the fans on this are no louder than the single fan on my HP work laptop when I am stressing the capabilities of that machine (that little sucker sounds like it is spinning about 10 billion rpms at times) The screen is FANTASTIC (WUXGA screen) very uniform across the from what I can see. I was worried about the glossy reflecting too much, I had a friend with a Toshiba 17" laptop and it is not near that glossy. I havent tried burning a DVD yet with Nero 7, but I will do that tonight and let you all know how it turns out for me (there is a thread concerning some issues with that). Sound is very good from the speakers. Well that is all I have for first impressions, I have several games I am going to load up on it in the next few days to give them a run. Guess I need to change my signature now

So an update, HalfLife 2 sucks cause you need a damned internet connection to start playing (which I dont have with my 9750 out here in Mosul!) however I am able to Battle for Middle Earth everything maxed with no problems and Brother in Arms with everything maxed at full screen resolution with no problems. This beast is amazing! It does get a little warm under the left palm, but nothing uncomfortable. If you stick your hand on the vent that is blowing out on the left side after a couple hours of game it is pretty hot there, but not going to burn your hands. I have a Zvox audio system (very nice speaker system) I was planning on using for the audio, but the internal sound card is too crappy so I will probably get a creative PCMCIA soundcard when I get back home. This is just an amazing system!
