what ? for 1 week maybe, then it will become an ornament and probably never ever used again cuz either a you a fat kid and havent got the energy to jump about, or with doing all that weird shit the controller gets thrown at a wall by accident when it slips out of the sweaty palms and breaks into 1000 peices.

its a gimmick that will be the last nintendo to be sold anywhere except in japan, as after this tendo aint coming back except in its homeland.
post #6 of 30
yeah, personally, i think it's a bad idea, as you said, probably it will be amusing for few days, same thing happened to me with the eye toy for PS2, it was fun but i ended up selling it in a week

Sweet! Thanks for the link. I can't wait to get my hands on this machine. I definitely think Nintendo has the right idea with this one. I wouldn't be too worried about getting yourself tired out by using it though...word has it that the system will include some sort of a standard controller "shell" that the remote will fit into. I guess we'll just have to wait until E3 to find out more!

I'm sure it will take more than a drop to break this thing...I mean, we are talking about Nintendo here, who has a reputation for making hardware that is well-nigh bullet proof.

i'm sure someone will break something using the controller, then they will sue nintendo :P

I'm not giving up on Nintendo yet. They have come out with some interesting concepts in the past that have caught on and some that haven't. Personally, I don't know about this controller thing...it will be interesting to see how it is to game with it.

I think Nintendo sucks ass unless you are into kiddie games. Sony and Microsoft have pwned them for years. Tell me ONE game system of theirs in the last few years that has been the best.

Gamecube: Pwned by PS 2 and Xbox. No way to argue this one.
DS: Pwned by PSP. The graphics are way better, the PSP can do WAY more (movies, games, web browsing, music, even emulators depending on your firmware). I use mine to view photos taken on my Sony digital camera as well. Try to argue the DS is better. Please.
Nintendo 64: LOL. Playstation 1 fooking creamed it.

So what makes anyone think the "revolution" will complete with either Sony or Microsoft? There is NO way. Give it up. And, just to set records straight. I have been in the console arena as long as just about any of you (Atari, original Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis with CD, Atari Lynx, original Playstation, XBox, Xbox 360, PSP).

I guess I just like kidde games then, although it is hard to argue that games like RE 4 are all that kidde. I would point out that the DS is "creaming" the PSP in sales, and in my opinion has a much better selection of games. While the PSP is the more powerful piece of hardware, history has shown that is no gurantee of market success (heck, you pointed out a good example yourself with the PS1 vs. N64). As for the Gamecube, it and the Xbox are about equal in worldwide sales, with the PS2 "pwning" both of them. I personally prefer the Gamecube, but that is a matter of personal taste. And honestly, it seems to me that Nintendo is not trying to directly compete with Microsoft and Sony, in the sense that Microsoft and Sony are trying to outdo each other with who has the most powerful machine, while Nintendo is more interesed in making changes in gameplay. The Revolution's lower price point seems to be positioning it as the system for gamers on a budget, or for those with a 360 or PS3 that want a second system. (Of course, for died in the wool Nintendo fans like me, it is a side benefit!)

Hee hee, this Alienware forum is one of the last places I would have expected to see a "MICR$OFT SUXOR" vs. "NINTENDO IS TEH KIDDIE" discussion.

PSP outsells DS in US by 1 million

Posted Jan 19th 2006 2:45PM by Blake Snow
In a report published Jan. 13, the The Mercury News says the PSP outsold the Nintendo DS in the US by more than 1 million units during 2005, this according to their own research. In contrast, the DS managed to sell out in Japan. Here's how the site breaks down the US sales numbers:

* PSP - 3.63M units (35% marketshare)
* DS - 2.43M units (23.5% marketshare)
* GBA - 4.26M units (41% marketshare)

If accurate, Americans seemingly care more about multi-functionality while the Japanese appreciate a large selection of both proven and experimental games on a next-gen portable. That is at least on the surface.

Now the Japanese may go for the DS more, but I personally do't care WTF they do. I buy whatever systems rawks as you can see I was a Nintendo guy at one time. Now I will buy Sony and Microsoft. And yes, I am l33t. I have more ghey ming horse power than anyone here.

LMFAO, ghey ming horse power, well put DeeB's

I would be aving a shiat weekend, if it wasnt for you bringing a smile to meh face.

i dont care what the japs do either, cuz over here, you never ever ever here of the japs, unless its a jap tourist who got robbed and he is on the news, apart from that, i wouldnt even know they existed. that be the truth, only time i ever see them is when there on tv after they just been robbed of there multi thousand dollar cameras n shit that hang around there necks which to me is an invitation to get it stoled.

but, they have a cool culture, and are more technologically advanced than any of us, which i admire, just a pity we dont seem to here about em more over here.

Last i heard it wasnt nintendo's aim to compete directly with sony and microsoft, its nowhere near as powerful for starters..

The idea is that its a budget system, thus open to more people.

It is pretty cute. Unfortunately, I got sidetracked with my PSP and now my puppy has run away. I hope he's okay - someday I'll have to look for him.

Was actually quite happy with the DS until I got the PSP. Had never played any of the Mario games, so I enjoyed that. Then the PSP arrived and I have to say it's fantastic. Particularly into the sports games, and now playing Prince of Persia - Revelations.
