This is unfortunetly not true. Im sure with a good deal of knowledge on how to solder your mic jack and rerute it to your headphone jack could allow additional output but not to 4.1 channels. Best way you can get 4.1 channels is to have windows adjust your sound out put to 4.1 and pray you have an internal soundcard that has HD sound with 7.1 support which would include 4.1 channel output. Otherwise invest in a nice external soundcar either USB or PCMCIA from brands such as but not limited to Phillips Aureal, Creative Audigy NX, Creative Audigy Z.
