So I was wondering if its possible to dissassemble my computer and paint the outside. Has anyone done this? If so, what type of paint is recommended? Are there any tutorials or helpful hints?

If it's a laptop, there are several articles online about that, or there were anyway.

Be aware it will likely void your warranty because to paint it properly you basically take it apart and build it again.

Here's a ton of info, google is your friend.

You can also send it to smooth creations and have them paint it for you.

I assume your talking about doing this yourself....warranty issues alone would make me think twice...let the pros do it, like HH said..."smooth creations'...they are the best, from all I have read

if you dont have a warranty anymore, i would go with smooth creations.

I have to agree with everyone here if you still have warrenty painting it will void it. If you have the cash smooth creations is the way to go they have some very talented artests there who can put any design you want on there. The paint they use is very high quality automotive paint done with mutiple layers. They are also very expericend at disassembing and reassembling your pc so no worries there. Some companys even trust them so much that they will not void your warrenty if you get it painted by them. Be sure and talk to the company before hand if warrenty is an issue

With a little Kelly-Moore and some fine bristled camel hair, you can be the toast of the trailer park.

Seeing as we're on track here...does anybody in the UK know of an outfit like Smooth Creations?

I have been searching off and on for awhile, not found anything like it.

Smooth will ship, but I'm on a tigt bidget for at least until July. Which same explains my search for a Uk Alternative!

You might look into custom auto painters you would have to do the disasembly yourself and take them just the case. Some of those guys do really nice work with an air brush i'm sure they could hook you up for a price.

Thanks for the info. I havent really considered anything spectacular. Bassically what I want is a mirror finish black car paintjob on my sentia. I dont have any plans for any sophisticated brushwork. Anyone know how much (on average) smooth creations costs per computer?
