as for laptops, id go nvidia, as they seem to have more options for their mobile cards than the ati counterparts. nvidia for desktop as well, as the sli technology seems alot better done and easier to use than the crossfire ati has now. i was a big ATI fan back in the 9000 series days, as they totally raped the fx-crap nvidia had, but currently im back on the nvidia wagon as i was back in the geforce4 days.

p.s., this thread is probalby destined to become one of those 2000 page forum argument threads

From what I've heard ATI has better battery life when it comes to laptops, but when it comes to outright in your face graphics, Nvidia pwns.

didn't vote. it depends though.

my lappy has ati because 9700 was the best card on the market when i got it.

for my desktop i bought nvidia because it was cheaper for faster performance on newegg (9200 vs 5700...got the 5700).

my bro's lappy has nvidia.

honestly...i like nvidia because of linux support, so my next lappy will most likely be nvidia
