Suggestion Needed: Nostromo n52 or Logitech Rumblepad

Thread Starter
Can someone please suggest me which is better for FPS games? Nostromo Speedpad (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...Fencoding=UTF8) or Logitech Rumblepad (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...Fencoding=UTF8). I play HL2, Quake4, BF2, COD2 and the likes. I also play Need For Speed MW, Prince of Persia. Which is recommened between the two for better gaming?. I think its worth buying some game controller to save my keyboard .

Thanks.

Nostromo n52 and Rumble pad 2

Hi.
I have both and use both for different types of games.
I like them both but only for specific games.
Rumble pad 2 is good for games like NHL, NFL, NFS, Prince of Persia
Nostromop n52 is good for FPS of any type.
Hope this helps

speedpad is great, i own the n52.

but trust me, you need larger hands to use it fully.

I have the N52 also, and love it for MMORPG's because of the configurability and number of functions literally at my fingertips - it's almost overkill for FPS to me, but I do use it for them as well.

I can see where smaller hands might pose a problem - I'm 6'0 and can palm a basketball easily, so it's not an issue for me.

I use the non "rumble" version of the Logitech, and I find it to be of very good quality. I use it to play Flatout.

The N52 is excellent for FPS games. I use it for BF2 and I can say it has really helped.

Does the N52 replace the mouse also? I would like to FPS game from a easy chair with the 9300 on a table, but this would normally require a lap table, keyboard and mouse. An all-in-one controller would be nice.

Have the n52, tried it out in FEAR to get used to it.

Tried for 2 hours to break it in while at the same time altering the config. Just couldn't get used to it.

I'll try again sometime later when I'm bored or actually have a problem with the keyboard.

n52 and I like it. The thumb buttons/wheel are kinda iffy which can tick you off when you need them, but I mainly like it because it is small and saves a lot of wear on my real keyboard.

Mostly FPS, but I bet the programability would be nice in MMORPG/RTS.

Never tried the rumblepad.

I guess it could replace the mouse. It has the directional cross (think NES) and a scroll wheel on it, but they're not quite as responsive as I'd like them to be in a FPS or in MMO PvP for that matter. I use mouselook and mouseturn a great deal and N52 really can't replace it.

However, thinking about what you're trying to do - have you looked into those "presentation" type mouse controllers, with the rollerball you manipulate? I've seen one that fits on your index finger and is controlled with the thumb. If it's responsive, it might be a solution for your easy chair (along with the N52)

Maybe a trackball and the N52 mounted on a short board would make an "easy chair" gaming controller?

N52 and MX 1000 can't even game without the speedpad anymore. Great combination benn useing the N52 for about 2 years now and it with the MX 1000 sweet
