Halo problem on my M170, single runs great, multi doesnt, wtf?

Specs in sig. The single player campaign runs GREAT on my lappy, 1600x1200, maxed. The game adjusts itself to the stretch very well, runs and looks great. Now, multiplayer, where i'm at all the time, stutters and constantly runs at a choppy framerate, with a little warp going on. It's NOT internet lag, as I have a fiber optic connection, and still happens if I host a LAN game or something. I have the UNMODDED 81.98 mobileforce drivers. I tried 81.97 and 81.98 both modded and unmodded.

What could be going on here? The game runs 100% perfrect, couldn't ask for more when I play singleplayer, but multiplayer drops the ball in performance.

Are you connecting to the net thru the wireless connection? If so, then i have read that wireless performance, in games, is pretty dire. Especially if you are using the Intel wireless card. You would be better connecting to the net thru the Lan port.

I've tried both. I can launch LAN-only local games and it still has the problem.

The in-game performance settings, as well as command line params(like -use11 for 1.1 shaders) don't affect it either. Lowest settings, the game still performs like sh!t in multiplayer, even myself hosting a LAN game. It's not the connection or performance settings, what could it be?

Also, when I hit Get List to get the multiplayer games, the game hangs a little every couple seconds, and the mouse jumps a little, and so does the halo in the background...never seen that before.

I've tried that also, been through all their help docs. I'm gonna call tomorrow, but wondering if anyone knew.
