I think you should tell your dad what exactly happened. I mean if he is a cool dad, he would be proud of you for coming to him with it. He would also be very please to find out that you bought your own laptop with your own money working all summer. Just another option.

It might sound silly, but if you really worked hard on earning this laptop, don't you think it would be a surprize for your dad if you gave him yours. Just a thought.

Hey Maniac that is actually a way good idea dude. My dad has actually been wanting a new laptop and when I opened the one he gave me we was like practically drooling. Sweet and my dads b-day is like half a month a way! why didnt i think of this before. Maniac ur a genius

Best Buy stopped selling Alienware because of too many problems with them and the long customer waits.

No thats inaccurate information, Best Buy signed a 1 year contract in March of 2002 with both Alienware and Micron. Neither are now offered as the contracts we not renewd.

Best Buy's reason was that they did not get good enough margins on either product. They also relaized that AW was targeted to a smaller "Niche" market then they usually sell to. So they wanted to renegotiate the deal with AW the following December. AW said no and it was AW the severed the BB deal.

I actually wrote BestBuy for this information when I was first looking for an AW machine, I wanted to know why I could not find AW on their web site anymore.

If your having issues with you AW, or have had issues post them and we will help. 90% of the complaints I see happen with all lines of computers, and are easily correctable.

Let me look for it that was now one laptop ago, I think I still have in my old .pst file.

I of course wanted to buy my AW from Best Buy, thinking that I could at least return it locally if I had any issues, but no luck and I guess that Best Buy never sold the laptops anyway.
