BT error message

Hello, I got a problem with my bluetooth

I did a reformat and installed win xp from scratch.
After that i used the drivers cd i got for my 9300 and installed the drivers from there. One of them was Dell Bluetooth (not the toshiba one)

After everything was finished, i right clicked on the bluetooth icon in my system tray and it came up with an error message saying something along the lines of my bluetooth device license expired.
Thats weird, this is a brand new laptop, i've only had it for a few days and i ordered it brand new from dell.

anyways, i then installed the toshiba ones off the cd dell gave me and uninstalled the dell original ones.

Everything works fine now, but sending items back and forth between the laptop and my cellphone is very slow.

Maybe i should stick to the plain dell drivers and not the toshiba ones, but i got that error message.

Anyone ever had this problem???

Also another thing,
my display settings on the laptop say 32 bit colour. Is that correct or should it say something else???

I think the Dell Bluetooth stack you were referring is the WIDCOMM stack, which I don't think was meant for the Dell Wireless 350 module without some tweaking (you can find more information searching these boards)

There is a new firmware and Toshiba stack update available
Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth Internal Module, Driver, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Multi Language, Multi System, v.v4.00.11(D), A13
Note the DFU firmware update (contained in the A13 download) alone can take up to 10 minutes to complete - it may look like the process has halted during the update but do not terminate the installation or you will end up with a dead module.

32bit colour is correct.

Regarding the Bluetooth, the software needs to be licenced to run on your hardware. If you have a BT adaptor that comes with the Toshiba stack, it likely won't work with the Widcomm stack because your device has not been licenced with the Widcomm software.

Widcomm is the best in my opinion and if you can get them to work they are good!

I personally didnt install any bluetooth stack and just let windows manage my BT card... works fine for me.... and less process running on startup.
