lol you dont "search" for DirectX first of all...

my suggestion to you, is download and install the latest DX9.0c runtime here if DXDiag says you have anything less than 9.0c: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

then get a driver cleaner and uninstall your ATI drivers and download and install the latest CATALYST package from ATI

It says i Have it :

and ive reinstalled the drivers already, but is unstalling them and reinstalling them different from using a driver cleaner?

Actually, it's not outdated - but it was never really marketed as a high-performance gaming card. It says so even on ATI's site.

because its exactly what it is, a budget card, sold for people who just need a simple 3D card because their system has no 3d capabilities at all

same reason the PCI GeForce4MX is still sold in stores

stores ALWAYS sell outdated videocards. In fact, thet probably just put the 9550 on the shelves!

sont get me wrong, it will handle todays normal activities. Hell, integrated graphics can. Its just not meant for gaming.

Actually, the 9550 isn't 3 years old - I think it came out last year.

The 9500 came out 3 years ago - that card is the same generation as my 9700 Pro.
