Has anyone had any experience with this company? They are direct resellers for Clevo. And they have the best prices out of anyone I've looked at for the D900K. I did speak with one of their sales representives and they seemed reputable and friendly. But I did do a few searches on them. And what little I could find, most of it was bad feed back. But people are more inclined to voice their complaints obviously. There were, however, a couple positive remarks but with very little detail.
This is their Dead/Burnt Pixel Policy. I couldn't find one on PCTorque to compare:
"Currently production technology does not guarantee LCD Screens can be produced without defective or "burnt" pixels. These pixels are described as "dots" or pin-head sized discolorations on your notebook screen as they do not have the ability to display the correct colour your notebook intends. HG considers any amount of burnt pixels greater or equal to six, dispersed over the LCD, to be warrantable and any amount of burnt pixels greater or equal to three clustered (within 1.5mm radius) together to be warrantable. However, due to the often misunderstood nature of this issue and HG's focus on delivering the highest levels of customer satisfaction, HG will replace an LCD screen with even one "burnt" pixel if notified within the first 7days of warranty."
Also, it seems that everyone lists their Optical drives differently. Does anyone know if Clevo is providing the optical drives, or are the resellers putting them in?
On Hybrid Gear it's listed as:
16X +/- DUAL LAYER DVD-RW / CD-RW / DVD-ROM COMBO DRIVE
But on PCTorque its:
8x DVD +-R/RW combo drive
The details for the PCtorque list out the different formats it reads and writes. It even includes DVD-RAM. I'm wondering if the same applies for the Hybrid Gear optical drive.
Any thoughts?
