Upgradeability Concerns for my Area-51m - Page 2

Most definitely consider DC, Craig. It's wicked cool if you like a combination of FPS, tactics and strategy. I personally love the ability to drive or fly vehicles...I'm mad good at flying the HIND!

You think so Terra? We should have a hind war then. I love flying it 2 feet of the ground....weeeeeeeeee!

If you haven't played BF1942 or Desert Combat yet, you might want to hold off until Battlefield Vietnam which is set to come out in March (pending delays). They redid the engine and added DX9 features. The real question is not how the 9600 mobility works with DC, but how it will handle BFVietnam. It will also be interesting to see how BFVietnam handles choppers. Supposedly it will be easier, flying choppers in DC has a high learning curve.

I played DC over the Holidays on a Hypersonic GX6 (3.0 GHz P4 with a Mobility Radeon 9600 Pro) at 1152X864 res and never dropped below 30 fps...it played really smoothly, although I was on a LAN.

Thats what I love about the choppers barley, they are more challenging than the plans or anything. But once you get the concepts down, they arent that bad really.

Toddler, thats interesting...I wonder if Im running into fps probs cuz my dekstop im on is an Athlon 1.3. You wouldnt think so, but who knows.

Yeah, that's probably it. I try to play DC on my P4 1.8 GHz GeForce 4 Ti4200 and get framerate problems. But playing it on the GX6 (which has the same specs as the Area-51m that I ordered) is smoove groove.
