Is it possible that ATI card on I6000 provides less vibrant colors vs onboard video?

Sounds crazy. I owned one 9300 ATI WUXGA and one I6000D WXGA (Samsung!) and both had washed out colors comparing to I6000 WXGA and I6000 WUXGA (Samsung too) that I purchased for friends. Couldn't get bright reds or greens for example in lappies with dedicated cards. Was it coincidence and problem was with LCDs or ATI cards (maybe Dell drivers since I couldn't install catalyst???). On integrated cards I used Intel latest drivers. And colors are very important for me since I watch lots of HDTV recordings on it. Now I am on the fence whether to buy next an I6000D or I6000

Possible? Anything is. Likely? I think you know the answer.
Try looking at your settings. Different cards may need to be set up somewhat differently to achieve the same results. You should have no trouble getting ideal colors out of your gpu, assuming it is not defective.

I tried all the settings available for color correction on both regular and overlay.
