I just got my 9400 few days ago. I bought a logitech v270 to use with the bluetooth. I installed the drivers from the dell website, flashed the bluetooth module, and I have never lost synch once and the mouse behave very well. I tried to install the logitech software (out of curiosity :P ) but it complained that a a required stack was missing.

Basicaly. for my needs at this time, default drivers perform 100% as they should.

I think it is hit or miss depending on what headset you have

I tried every stack I could find, only the Microsoft stack allowed me to pair with the Apple Wireless Keyboard. I also use the Logitech BT900 mouse (without setpoint.) I have also had no problems using my SE K750i phone as a bluetooth remote for Powerpoint, and for sync'ing.

The toshiba and widcomm stacks would prompt me to enter the PIN in order to pair, but wouldn't tell me what that PIN was... after I'd hit enter I'd breifly see the randomly generated PIN flash on the screen, only to be replaced with an informational dialog telling me it failed to pair. I'm pretty disgusted by the sorry state of bluetooth drivers.

I have noticed one weird thing... if I reboot with a network cable attached, bluetooth with fail to reconnect after waking up from a suspend. I rarely reboot so it's not a big problem... just took me a few weeks to recognize the pattern.

your suppose to use pin: 0000 as default for almost all devices unless you are worried about security.

I'm buying a 9400 (for me) and an 820 (boss) for work. They both have the BT module installed by Dell. She really wants BT mouse/keyboard because she hates wires.

Any suggestions on a good BT keyboard/mouse (she's a lefty) for her? I'd prefer to not have a USB module that she'd have to plug in, but I bought her a dock also which we can plug into if needed. But then what's the point of the built-in BT module?

Thanks in advance.

Good writeup. I didnt hate the toshiba drivers, just the multiple com ports and the icon stuff.

Cant tell a difference on my 1705 using Wid drivers vs XPSG2 and Tosh drivers - both with the same Logitech BT mouse. One BIG difference is my PalmT3 - much easier with Wid drivers. I might change my tune if I add other devices.

A few pages back was a license "patcher"... no idea if it applies to you but I had to use it. FYI: it put the files on the desktop and there wasnt any button to press - all menu driven.

It works great on my i9400, but now I cant figure out how to turn Bluetooth off?!

How do I do that? My light is always on now!

There are several ways but maybe your Fn+F2 isnt working? RightClick the "QuickSet" icon in the tray... then "Open"

On my 1705 this brings up a little window with several console styled icons... look for "Radio Control Options" then "Advanced"

Hi, my M1710 is going to be delivered in the next few days. I've got the Logitech DiNovo desktop (the 2nd release with the MX900) and wondered if anyone's managed to get it working without installing any of the setpoint software. I've read the guide on how to patch the license etc but I'd rather avoid setpoint, it's been a nightmare on my current machine.

Going from this thread, the MX900 is straightforward to get working without setpoint but if anyone has had any luck getting a logitech keyboard or number pad to work I'd appreciate any advice you might have.

Right, well, Dinovo update, the MX900 works perfectly with the factory M1710 settings, the media pad was also detected and works too. I haven't tried the keyboard yet or the "extra" buttons on the MX900 but if anyone's interested I can give that a go and report back. The media pad is going to make a kick ass Media Centre controller

Can someone point me in the direction of were to get the TM350 flash update? Awsome guide!

I went to Dell for the latest drivers/flash. My 350 module wasn't put in at the factory so all I had was the xp stack. I couldnt' set up my BT motorola hs850 headset. I downloaded the Dell drivers, ran them and it set up the Toshiba stack. Now it runs like a champ. I got rid of the xp bt icon. The Toshiba stack works for me so far....though it's only been a couple of days.

One thing I've noticed; when I enable bluetooth, my cpu usage goes to 100% and it runs at the full 2 gig. I went into task manager and set the priority to "below normal". That seems to have cured most of the cpu bottleneck issues but it's still cranked to 2.0.

Edit; Just for giggles, I tried the Widcomm stack. I couldn't get my headset to work. I'm pretty sure I was doing something wrong but I played with it a bit and no joy. It had the profile, recognised the device, but I couldn't get it to work with any program. I reinstalled the Toshiba stuff and it works like a charm....still the full clocking cpu thing, though...I guess I can live with that.
