My Hypersonic System

I ordered my system back on 9/28/05. It took roughly two months for me to get my system. The reasons I kept getting from Alison were the same excuses she gives everyone that I've read on this forum - parts not in, putting system together, troubleshooting problem, blah blah blah. You can see from my signature that my system is an EX7, not even the newer systems that are shipping out now.

When I did get my system I didn't have much time to really test it out thoroughly performance wise. I simply had too much work going on, which is why I needed the laptop in the first place.

Now, here I am in January, 2 months after getting the system, and it will not boot. The system froze and when I tried to reboot it displayed a message about a 'resource conflict on the motherboard'. I called tech support, they had me try removing a memory stick with no luck. He then tells me I have to send my system in for repair. Great! So he starts to explain that he's going to send me a shipping label, etc and I tell him don't bother, I'm going to next day the laptop to him. I explained to him that this is my WORK machine that I use everyday that contains all of my work. He said he might be able to put a rush on it, but no guarantees. So I send the laptop back next day to them. I called yesterday (the day they got it) and they said they're swapping the mother board out and that they would know something late yesterday or early today. I called today and they said that the new mother board they put in the laptop was bad and that they would need to order another one. JUST PERFECT. Basically, he told me he might get the mother board in this week, maybe not. This is after I told them how I need my laptop back desperately. And to top it all off, it might not even be the mother board thats the problem.

To be perfectly honest, I don't trust anyone at hypersonic. Would I buy another system from them, an emphatic no. All this for a system that was upwards of $5k. I think it's obvious I'm not a happy customer.

I NEED MY LAPTOP BACK!

yeah bro u and me are in the same boat. wait, then graphics card overheating and throttling, then they send me a 7800gtx, then we discover that the fancontroller is busted on the mobo, so we have to send it back, and now i got it and the hdd controller is busted and it posts but says no os/hdd. WTF!

Well, I'm happy to say that the level of support that I have recieved from Hypersonic in regards to my laptop issue has been very good. As we speak my laptop is on it's way back to me for delivery tomorrow. Every time I called asking about the problem and how they were progressing they were very good about explaining what they were doing, detailing the problem, and how they were making sure to rush the RMA so I could get it back as soon as possible. It turns out that the motherboard flaked out and that they had to replace it, which they did in a day (nice!). I sincerely hope that was the issue and that I won't have anymore problems, although if I do I can feel comfortable knowing the level of support that Hypersonic will give.

I'll post an update tomorrow when I get my laptop back (fingers crossed).

Edit: I forgot to mention, that when I get my laptop back tomorrow, the total time my laptop has spent out of my hands has been exactly 7 days. That includes shipping time to Hypersonic and back to me. Not bad.

Just some useless advice... I always have an extra machine up and running in the event a disaster occurs. Because laptops are more vulnerable than desktops, it's not good to be solely dependent on them.

I agree and always backup my desktops and laptops. That doesn't mean I can't depend on a machine I paid close to $5k for and use for work.

yeah, only problem is my only rig that could play bf2 and fear died in an overcocking accident near 4ghz. my thin ibm's and hp's and handful of desktops cant do any of that stuff.
