I was wondering about the people that installed Ubuntu on their Z71V , if the sound was working out of the box ..

I can't get mine to work ... search and downloaded some alsa driver , but do i need a kernel for that ?

Thanks!

btw , i switched from Debian to Ubuntu since my teacher was too dumb to get Debian working correctly LOL !

cat /proc/asound/cards shows what?

Blah ... Fixed my issue , change the Device from HDA-Intel to the REALTEK ALC880 and VOILA ! i got sound !
