Does anyone know if the graphic card can be upgraded? I'm currently using the Ati X200M on a Turion64 System.

Hello,
I love my v4000t. I just have one question for you guys. What kind of screwdriver do I need to use to open up the ram area? My problem is those Chinese people kinda stripped the screws on the case. I can get one off but the other two won't move. Should I bring my ram and laptop into circuit city or best buy and see if they can install it for me? Oh yeah, I made sure not to totally destroy the nuts but they are pretty stripped. Please help.

Haha, you guys are too funny.

However, welcome to the Compaq Laptop owner's club. I have a V2030US (1.4 Ghz Centrino Pent-M, 1g DDR400 ram, 60 gig HD) and I love it.

One thing you'll notice is the battery life on Compaqs is rather lacking. After only a year and a 1/2 my Battery life has gone from 4.5 hours to 2.5 hours. Time for a new battery. The same thing happened to the previous 2 Compaqs that I have owned.

I also have a Sager with a 1.9 Ghz Pent-M, 1 gig of DDR400 RAM, x700 (256 MB DDR), 60 gig 7200 RPM drive. I will admit I was actually rather let down by the performance of the x700. I averaged about 80 FPS in the stress test, 1440 x 1050, with all other settings set to the default. After playing on my X850TX running @ 590 core, 1350 mem, I was more satisfied with 105 FPS @ 1600x1200 all settings on max.

For portable gaming, no doubt the x700 is awesome, and a HUGE improvment over intergrated graphics cards. Just don't Load up CoD2 on max settings and dissapoint yourself. (;

None-the-less, congradulations on the laptop, do well in school, resist the urge to play games on your new laptop in class (one of the reasons I never bring my Sager) and I wish you the best of luck with it. My Compaqs have all been pretty tough. I had one Compaq I don't remember the model but, it survived a fall down the stairs and getting slammed around in my backpack for four years. My mom finally did it in when she ran it over with her Volvo XC90.

Good luck!

What was your notebook doing on the drive way

Haha, long stroy.
Short Version: I put my backpack and another bag behind the car to put it in the back. I ended up forgetting something and going back into the house. My mom got into the car and was ready to go. I ended up completely forgetting about the stuff behind the car. Car goes into reverse and *CRUNCH* -- Game over for the laptop.
