I'm a new member here so, don't let the others down because of me
Or8, Presario 1200 Series Model 12XL-405. Ok, The problem is I can't get in to the Windows. Its stuck on Red Compaq Logo and I don't know why.
Firstly, I've got a 256MB from my previous laptop (Tecra 9000) and installed on 12XL-405. It runs fine and I've decided to buy Windows XP Professional. After couple of weeks, the laptop locks itself up. Contacted HP and they say that all I have to do is remove the Memory but What about XP? That means I have to down-grade my windows to Me
P.S: The Bios says that the CD-Rom is OHB DRMX-02c, but it supposed to be Toshiba something. This information might help to solve the problem. I was trying to open the 12XL-405 to remove the CD-Rom but I couldn't, I don't have the small (-) screwdriver. might be the CD-Rom is the problem maker
