i've heard dell's suck because i've seen a lot of stories about them lighting on fire, so therefore, you should avoid dell laptops... just because you see a bunch of reviews saying those seagate drives have stopped working, it doesn't mean that they all suffer the same problem. sure, there are what, like half the reviews saying they are bad because they stop working, how many other people bought the drive and have it still working perfectly fine that didn't write a review saying so? i know mine's working fine after close to 9 months of active use. i mean, from reading forums and stuff, you'd think that like 10% of all dell laptops fail, while others have nearly none, and from those reviews, you'd think that like over 50% of those drives fail, but i mean, if they did, wouldn't there have been some soer of recall or drastic action taken to fix the problem? i mean, 50% is a lot of those drives to fail.
as for it recognizing the drive, there shoudl be no problem at all. the 700m is from the same era as the 9300, and mine recognizes it perfectly fine.
