Hi,

I know in the task list, services.exe are faily normal. However, I cannot tell what each instance of services.exe does.

Is there a tool that tells you? I have one services.exe that runs 25 to 35 mb. Curious to see what it is.

Thanks.

www.google.com

you will find MUCH more than you want to read.

there are sites where you can type the service in them, and itll pop up the spcs of that service.

oops...i just realised......i meant to ask about the multiple instances or "svchost.exe" on task manager, and not services.exe.

I am curious to find out what each one is actually running. I am sure my pc is clean, but i know some virii could pose as svchost.exe...or a corrupt or bad serice could make its svchost.exe instance use more memory then needed.

i currently have 6 svchost running. one is local service, 2 are network service, and three are system.

its just operating system stuff. id worry if you had like 20 of these running, but not 6-8
