Some help with configuration please?

Hey guys, I'm interested in picking up the new 9400 since my ~4 year old laptop is on its last legs. I need the machine to be quick since i'm a student and do a lot of multi-tasking, and I'll also be graduating after this semester so I want something that will be fast for work usage. I do some gaming, but not too much...I think that's mainly because of my current hardware limitations though more than anything else. Portability isn't too much of an issue even though I am quite mobile. However, i'm used to this clunky laptop already so i'm not too worried about weight or anything. I would like this system to last me for several years ideally.

This is what I came up with so far, sorry if the paste job is a bit crude:

Inspiron 9400
Intel® Core™ Duo Processor T2500 (2GHz/667MHz FSB)

Operating System (Office software not included)
Genuine Windows XP Professional

Operating System Backup & Recovery
Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional backup CD

LCD Panel
17 inch UltraSharp™ Wide Screen UXGA Display with TrueLife™

Memory
1GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz

Hard Drive
80GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive

Combo/DVD+RW Drives
8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer DVD+R write capability

Graphics Card
256MB NVIDA® GeForce™ Go 7800

Primary Battery
53 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery

Spare Power Adapter
None

Wireless Networking Cards
Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11a/g Mini Card (54Mbps)

Wireless Personal Networking Card
Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth Internal(2.0 + Enhanced Data Rate)

Main questions/concerns: Should I go with a different hard drive? How much would I benefit moving to a 7200 rpm drive instead? Is the upgrade to the intel wireless card over dell's worth it? I hear it uses less power, so I figured that would help when i'm unplugged. How necessary is bluetooth? I'm assuming once I hit the business world in the next year or so, this is something I'll likely want so I tossed it in there.

Thanks in advance, I hope to order this thing very soon so any input would be great!

I would get 100gb ..... and I have the 1.83 and does insane multitasking .. running mcafee and ad aware at the same time and I can still navigate on the net and watch streaming video(which was impossible with my last a64 mobile) ... the resolution is so high that it seems I have two monitors ...

games is amazing to ... I play everything flwaless

and you should get bluetooth .. for example if your cell phone has bluetooth it can connect to your pc without cable. not to mention pda etc.

Cool, do you think 5400 rpm is quick enough or should I go 7200?

I agree with the comments about bluetooth, when my cell service is up this summer i'm going to pick up a bluetooth phone most likely.

I'm currently planning on the 7200rpm drive. I've heard it may only realize in a 14% performance gain over the 5400 - but that's still 14%!

Also, (again, just me) I am aiming for 2GB ram...

Yeah I was thinking about going with 2gigs of ram, but i'll most likely wait for now and do it in the future. Still debating on this damn hard drive though

get the mushkind dual channel kit from newegg cause it is ddr2 667 ram and it is way cheaper than dell, and just get the t2400 and get a sexy merom chip when they come out to replace it with. that is what i am thinking about doing.
