WOHOOOO

I only see one partition. I think I'm gonna go ahead and reformat and put on XP Pro. Any comments before I do so?

You'll see 3 partitons. The first is the Dell Utility Partition, 2nd is the OS partition and the 3rd is the Dell PC Restore Partition.

Should I keep both of the extra partitions?

Keep the utility/diagnostic (it's small) but nuke the restore part (over 4 gigs IIRC)--unless you think you'll ever want to restore the Dell bloatware for some reason.

Cool, so I just delete that partition right?

you can make a restore disk from the partition if you want before you delete it. did you get a Windows CD with your system?

Nah I didn't get a cd. I might call them up and ask them to give me one though.

I asked them for one and they even overnighted it. i told them that i needed a COMPLETELY fresh install for it to be used to connect to my office's network. I said the IT guys wants nothing on it and they had no problems with it. i suggest email because i spent 1 hour trying to get a human and ended up in India. The rep was rude and even hung up on me because THEY didn't understand what i wanted. the email tech was very friendly and helpful. hope this helps.

Yup, just delete the original parts and create new ones as you like.
