60GB 7200 or 100GB 5400? - Page 2

WHat current models are there for SATA 5k100?

Newegg doesnt have any SATA Seagate ones!!

Ok, as you see in my sig, my 9400 has arrived.

Got the Hitachi Travelstar SATA 7K100 (7.200rpms). I 've done a short disk benchmark with linux...both have disabled accoustic management, with the new i9400 it is now easier possible by the BIOS.

i9300 - 5.400 Fujitsu MHV 2080AH IDE:

Timing cached reads: 2892 MB in 2.00 sec = 1445,28 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads: 100 MB in 3.02 sec = 33,12 MB/sec

i9400 - 7.200 Hitachi HTS72108 (7k100) SATA:
Timing cached reads: 4424 MB in 2.00 sec = 2212,66 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads: 132 MB in 3.03 sec = 43,59 MB/sec

get the 100gb 5400.
I got a hitachi that came with my e1705.

its FAST and QUIET!! its abt 10-15% faster than the 5400 on my 9300...
