No more prices like 1900 starts at 1100 now (with solo)

Being a long time DELL user and all now I completely figured out how they work.

If you guys noticed E1705/9400 was like around 1900 4-5 days ago. But now the base system starts from around 1100. well this is no surprise coz dell is trying to get rid of its stock for 9300 and then it will discontinue it and 9400/e1705 will be in place instead with 9300's price. I knew that long time ago. This is the reason I got rid of my 9300 and now looking forward to getting a 9400/e170 5

It is clear that nvidia 6800 go stocks are finished beacuse 9300 doesn't ship with it no more. they don't even offfer UXGA screens now (out of stock or they use them for 9400/e1705) well it is obvious and
it is appears to me that i9300 came to its end

Its life was quite long than i9200 tho

If that is the case then what would happen if my geforce 6800 (or any part of my 9300) got knackered and i needed a replacement? Would they simply tell me i'm outta luck or would i get something better since my 9300 is only 2 months old? They must have 9300 spares still left over for such a scenario....

Dell keeps spare parts inventory well into the years so they can gouge you on part replacement cost. Also to cover there own tracks if its a warranty replacement issue but in most cases if they cannot replace the part they can go as far as offering you a new system all together and scrapping your system for parts which works out better for users like yourself.

You will be slapping yourself in the face for jumping the gun here my friend, MEROM is right around the corner, CORE DUO is just a bump on the road to Merom but more power to anyone who can afford to buy laptops every time a new one comes out.
I'll be keeping my 9300, using it to surf through the forums on core duo and browse through all the problems you guys are going to be having wondering now who's really pissed eh?

At this point Intel is saying that the core duo/solo will support Merom when it is released. Also, based on inside sources I wouldn't expect to see Merom shipping till September and maybe even a little later.

I agree that selling a 9300 to buy a 9400 may not make financial sense but if you are in the market for a new system the 9400/1705 is a killer combination thay may prove to have tons of future upgradebility when it comes to video cards and potential Merom support.

Well that isn't good news. I was hoping they would be earlier than that.
