This would be a question for a Sager Tech, but I believe that you can do it through the realtek sound manager. You'll have to pioneer this one as I have been asking about the s/pdif port for a lil while and haven't gotten much action.

Tellme this please, What surround sound speakers are you using? I havn't found much on this either...

Ok, check you have set the socket to Line out not headphones.
You need to go to the AC97 Audio config app (either control panel or should be in your system tray ((o)) sort of icon).
Select Speaker config tab. Click on 2 channel mode - the top phonejack switch (green) should show "Line Out".

It is also worth enabling the "Sync phonejack switch with speaker setting" checkbox at the bottom. It will automagically change the line settings for you based on your config selection.

Also make sure that the SPDIF output tab shows output as being disabled.

Unless you have a digital decoder, be it seperate or built in to the speakers, you cant use spdif out. You're limited to either analogue up to 6 channel, one port for stereo, 2 for 4 channel and all 3 for 6 channel (5.1).

If you are trying to use spdif with digital speakers, then that should go quite smoothly, make sure you have the realtek sound manager set to something other than 'analogue only' for the spdif port and make sure spdif isnt muted in volume control. Use a phono-coax adapter (like the y cable that should have come with the laptop) and then a coax cable to plug the spdif port into you speakers / decoder.

There is no volume control for spdif, if it's playing through the laptop it should also be playing through spdif if you've followed the above.
