Vapo sounds nice. Never really knew much about it tho. How much would a CPU set up costs and what about condensation? Some links to shops that sell vapo set ups would be real cool. Maybe this could be my next project.

crazy pc and frozen cpu have quite a lot of phasechange cooling. normally it will set you back about 700-1000 dollars. If i were you, id wait for OCZ's new phasechange( i think its ocz ill have to check anandtech) and the price point should be around 200-500 dollars, putting it into the range of water cooling. insulating the mobo and cpu isnt really hard, and besides condensation, there is really no risk involved. A lot of people throw in a lower end P4 or athlon 64(3000-3500, and 2.8-3.2ghz P4) while others throw in FX-57's and P4 extreme editions. whatever you choose, you will get insane performance from. I have seen amd's in the 4ghz range and have heard rumors of P4's breaking into the 6ghz range! If you hold out(you probably will as u already just finished that kick-ass rig, ), then you should be able to pick up that new OCZ cooler in time for your next project. phasechange r0x

Thx for the linkage. Those are the best pics of it so far. Although the Vapochill case on the 3rd page looks mighty sexy aswell. But, I think ill stick whith the OCZ since the price is pretty good.

one question. How would you say this case compares to more conventional cases? like a lianli 6070B or V1000B, or an Antec P180? I'm talking about heat/airflow, noise, and how does it look in person, because ive seen some mediocre case mods that look insane in person. Btw the reason im asking, is because i have been interested in that case since it came out, but there have been few reviews of it in depth.

Well, if u look at the interior it almost looks like the interior of the V1000. I have mixed feelings about the Power Supply being at the bottom since this rig is WC. But the great thing about this case is how much room u have to work with. As u can see its not hard at all to get a clean wiring job. I myself have mediocre modding skills which is one of the biggest reasons i picked this case. The material is very high quality which makes me understand the price of this case. All in all im very happy with it. As far as cooling, Im still testing my system. SO far my cards are at 52-55 idle and 70-72 full load. But then again its SLi so its kinda hard to get real good cooling.

Any particular reason you went with an Opty rather than an X2? I thought that there was very little performance difference.

Optys have been known to have higher and more stable OC speeds compared to the X2 . It is the dual core version aswell and has a much larger cache.

lame. my bad, i was thinking of itanium2's and xeons. still an improvement, though i doubt it will really give you much. 512kb to a meg is good, but higher up, u get better multitasking performance, but the onchip latencies go up as well. 4 and up is to much cache anyways for any desktop or lowlevel workstation. (i would have gone FX60 )
