Whining 9750

My 9750 whines a lot. Not all the time, but frequently.

Not sure if it is caused by fan or hard drive, but the sound is somewhere between the old-time voice-coil HD motors and something rubbing as it spins.

Any advice on narrowing down the issue? Does it merit having the box serviced?
