+ DVDRW
+ Bigger H.D
+ Centrino, and bit faster speed at 1.73

- 4200rpm HD
- older mode (but does it matter really?

http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...0070619&catid=
(FREE $100 Gift card making it $899!)

+ Price! CHeaper!
+ Trubrite WSXGA
+ DDR2 RAM
+ 5400 rpm HD
+ Newer model

- Celeron (but some say other than battery life, you cant get the difference)
- No DVDRW

the first link isn't working for me. Tell me how much the first system is. as far as centrino compared to celeron goes, there is no comparison, centrino vastly outperforms while offering better battery life.
Questions you need to ask yourself:
1. do you need battery life
2. is a dvd burner something you would use
3. do you plan on using hard drive intensive programs (my guess is no because you aren't exactly looking at powerful systems here)

preferably i'd go with the 5400rpm and the Intel Pentium M (centrino), but looks like you don't have that choice.

You could always start with the second model (ddr and 5400rpm) and upgrade the processor later.

1. No, it will be always plugged in. Rarely carried around.
2. No, I never used my CDRW right now.
3. No, but a 5400rpm Ive always wanted.

Didnt know you could upgrade a celeron M cpu to a P-M. If anything, if theres a HUGE improvement with Centrino over Celeron, I will get this model.

But have of that stuff I dont really need, like DVDRW.'

What? No. Celeron yes, but he was talkng about Celeron-M, which has decent relative performance but lacks only in battery life.

Would I be alright going with a celeron M? How will i suffer with it when it comes to Photoshop, graphics programs, etc. No games remember.

Future shop has some great deals, plus free $100 gift card right now with toshiba laptop. Two models, im lookin at, basically $300 more for P-M.
