7800GTX Vs 7800 GO Benchmark please! - Page 2

Question.. 3DMark 05 always has "high scores" compared to 06.. Are they simply running at different resolution (1024x768)??

Yeah thats pretty good. The E1705 gets about 6K on 05 when overclocked. In 3dmark 06 I can get 3049. Seems like the 1600 is just a little slower than the 7800 so far.

I've been playing with the new 83.40 drivers and I got just over 3100 in 3DMark06 (with default OC from the nVidia control panel). I can play all games (at least the ones I play) on max res with max settings without a problem. Even without OCing.

I've got a screenshot, but I still have to put it online...

No. It's a less intensive,more dated test.

So I guess the difference between the GTX and the GO isn't quite as big as I had originally thought. There's a few people scoring mid 4000s in 06 with a 2.4ghz pinmod and an OCed GTX. Have you tried manually overclocking that card yet?

If I had the cash, I'd have no problem buying a 9400 now; especially since the price for the GTX for a 9300 has drastically increased.

So was I. Sorry If I forgot to put mobile or go, I just assumed that you would understand what I meant being this is discussing notebooks lol

Unfortunately not, as I've been swamped in work lately, so I only get to steal like half an hour or an hour here or there for gaming. But once I get more time (in about a week) I will definately give it a shot!

From my experience with the 9400, a little over a week and mostly doing work I can really say this is one fast machine. I haven't been able to find proper RAM yet (over here in the Netherlands), so I'm still running on 1GB. That will soon change, I hope. I do think this machine can use the 2nd GB.

Also I think the 7800 go has some gaming potential. I will try some more (and heavier) games soon, so I can give you more feedback in a short while.

Theres still a rather large gap between a 7800GTX and a regular 7800 go card. The smaller gap would be comparing a 6800Ultra to a 7800go which will still show scores in favor of the 6800 Ultra.

do you have any specific figures for this

I am considering buying a new lap and cant decide to get the Dell-installed 7800 Go or get a laptop without a card and buy a 6800 Ultra and upgrade it myself (I know the 7800 GTX is the best but too pricey)

and is there a guide on this forum to help overclock the 7800?
