All that money spent on an overpriced processor and a couple of second place GPU's, and you only sprung for 2GB of RAM and a single HDD?

At any rate, screaming setup and congrats!

Nice! That should last you for a while.

WTF are u talking about? U clearly don't know shit. Geforce 7800 GTX 512 is currently number 1. I am putting those and an FX 60 in my AW ALX rebuild. Show some respect fellow old timer

In all honesty, you can get Opteron 165 dual core CPUs to run 2.6GHz on pratically stock volts. That right there saves you $1,000. Hope you plan on overclocking the shit out of that FX cause if you don't you should have just got an X2 4400 or something.

Just my opinion. The FX 60 is badass, but I can get my X2 3800+ at 2.6GHz.

i though the ati x1900xtx is number 1 right now

Go with an opteron 170 or 175, if you plan to overclock you will probably do better with one of those. I'd say a Opty 170 would be the best choice.

Opty 165 1.8GHz 1Mb of cache per core

Opty 170 2.0GHz 1Mb of cache per core

Opty 175 2.2GHz 1Mb of cache per core

By the way, don't go ibuy whatever, build your own, it will be cheaper.

1900xtx or whatever the flagship is..is benching better and in some cases benching better than 7800s in SLI (x3 demo). I dont know FPS might be the same, but the IQ and shader performance is better with the ATI right now. Newer games that are more shader intensive will further the difference.

im not really a fan of ati. or crossfire. and benchmarking is really on par for both. i just like the support and consistancy for nvidia. anywho, this is a computer that my work gave to me. and yes its the 512gpu version. i also dont plan for raid cuz i really have no use for that much speed. i rather use the storage. 2 gigs of lowlat corsair xms. i thnk thats fast enough for me. im grateful that they even gave me something than nothing so either way i would appreciate anything free.

wow that is awesome you got this from work. i wouldn't mind be working at that place heh

i put in lot more hours than i should have with this company. and plus its kind of a promo thing for the fx so i think they got the comp cheap anyways. well the cpu at least. i dunno about the other parts hahah

How about u read a bit more on my ALX rebuilt before you comment about what I might do. Try completely separate dual watercooling systems with watercooled gpus, cpu, ram, and chipset. Try DFI LanParty Mobo and Muskin Redline ram Try Pc Power and Cooling 850 watt PSU. Now do you think I will OC the fooker? Duh. I upgraded from ASUS an8sli deluxe mobo, fx 55, 6800 ULtras and Corsair XMS ram. Nothing currently out by ATI is benchmarking ACROSS the board better than Nvidias top of the line and certainly not as stable. What next? Fooking push Macs? U better research before you talk to me like a nOOb because u clearly don't know who the fook u are talking to.

BTW: I am a little drunk but u fooking noobies need to stay in line.

DB tends to do quite a bit of research on his products he plans to install in his PC's. He might be an Nvidia fanboy, or not, but he sure knows his stuff about hardware and wouldnt put a second rate anything in his favorite rig.

I dont think they know you like we do DB, unleash the midgies!

The new X1900XTX barely beats the 7800GTX512 and yet all the online reviews are raving over it?

It isnt a GIANT LEAP ahead like I expected...

And anyway...at this point of time I think games need to up the ante with better coding (f**k you F.E.A.R!!! ) and a better "gaming experience"...

Bloated graphics that boast impossible system requirements will be met with a middle finger held up high in the air for all to see...fuggin programmers!!

Remember when the first COD came out? I could play it on a ultra-portable notebook without ANY issues!! That game would run on my calculator if I could find some way to get it in there!! And did it sacrifice on the "EXPERIENCE" ?? Hell NO!

I want more games like COD-1 that bring the story to the table...instead of hiding it behind pretty graphics that do nothing for the overall gaming experience.
