Nvidia fan boy does have an ATI 9600 in one of his laptops. Nvidia has produced better cards for the last few years. That is just a fact. They had SLI out and stable where ATI just recently has crossfire out. EVERYONE knows ATI is behind and trying to play catch up.
ya i agree, there aint no fanboi'ism here, whatever is the best at that particular time is what DeeB's would probably buy, whether it be nvidia ati intel amd etc etc, just look at his other threads where he is asking for advice on what is the best such n such device, cpu whatever, i dont think fanboi'ism comes into it.

whatever is the best, he will get, rest assured, he has more money than sense and will buy the best cuz, well just cuz he can

I noticed that as well...

I hate the term fanboy... There is a good reason why people buy something. Its because its better than everything else.

Actually I had that avatar up when I had my 6800Go Ultra, not like I had much choices when it came to what video card I could put in my XPS. I have an nVidia card my my current rig and it's fine. I've also owned a X800XT PE which was a wonderful card too. Both companies (ATi and nVidia) are good but I don't go around saying omg nVidia smacks ATi, they really dont. ATi has been more ambitious with their X1800/X1900 series, lower number of pixel pipes, 90nm and HDR FP16 with AA (which nVidia's best card can't do) and still keeps up with nVidias top of the line cards. That right there is an achievement.

you guys also have to think. crossfire gpu have to use the crossfire ready mobo. i dont think i trust ati chipsets just yet. too early in the motherboard game

Nvidia has been on top for the last couple years. That is just the truth of the matter. I have been in this game for a long time (Canopus Pure 3d 3dfx card, Matrox Mystiqe, Origina Geforce card, also had a Radeon desktop don't remember the model number). Since the 9800 ATI just has not been able to get ahead. That is the fact. Will they ever? Perhaps. But they are not at this point.
They released a card that was touted to be a G70 killer, when in fact it BARELY edges the GTX out in only SOME benchmarks. The GTX has been out for a little bit, and is STILL holding strong.
Wait until March and April when G71 is supposed to be released, and thats not even the last.

Thing is, ATI is playing catch-up while Nvidia has the ball and is running with it.

Obviously you haven't kept up with the current offereings. X1900 is considerably better than even the 7800GTX 512. Before opening your pie hole and swearing at a mod showing you ignorance, think, and research.

One place to start. http://anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2679

FWIW, I am far from an ATI fanboy. I typically lean topwards nVidia, even when they aren't on top. But don't go swearing at me because of your ignorance. The X1900 beats the 7800GTX 512 by as much as 80%.

Black and White 2 and Quake 4 are the exceptions. They are relatively equal in Quake 4, and the 7800GTX 512 blows the X1900 away in B&W2. Everything else is a run away for the X1900.

Thunder, DB didn't mean anything w/ the swearing...He is what we call "special" not to excuse his behavior...I guess those that know him are accustomed to his random outbursts...

QFT. I am probably the only one in the entire forums that just doesnt like hearing about a vet clinic he owns, what he buys, what first class plane he takes, what "humble" beginnings he came from, why he spends like he does. People that generally have the most money don't talk about it much..dont spend it like that..and yes DB you are actually wrong. The new 1900s are benching alot higher as Thunder aptly pointed out. And you ignored my point that it will ONLY GET WORSE with better driver updates, and games that actually are more shader intensive. its a better card.
