I have a I8600 and my Daughter has just purchased a I6000. She did not order any disks, can I use my Xp disk on hers I want to reformat Her computer

I think so. Give it a shot. I got my xps with media center because i had xp pro from an old laptop i dont use. It was kinda wierd, when I instaleld the fresh copy of xp pro i was never asked for a serial number. When you update to service pack 2 microsoft checks to validate ur serial and it said i had one that was ok.

doesnt each brand new laptop comes with its own windows cd? ie reinstallation cd,drivers etc
