I'm considering buying one of these notebooks from ABS. I've read that ABS's reputation is sparkling, winning several computer magazine awards over the years. Been business since 1990. However, I've never talked with anyone that bought from them.

Here are the system specs:

Travel Weight: 7.85lbs
15.4" WXGA 1280x800 TFT Display
512MB DDR333 SDRAM
80GB Hard Drive
IntelĀ® PentiumĀ® 4 Processor 2.8GHz 800MHz FSB w/HT Technology
Internal DVD/CDRW Combo Drive
Multimedia Card Reader
ATI Mobile Radeon 9600 w/128MB graphic memory
S-Video TV-out
Integrated 802.11g/b Dual Band Wireless
56K V.92 Modem & 10/100 LAN
1 Firewire port & 3 USB 2.0 High-Speed Ports
3.5 Hours Battery Life
Windows XP Home Edition

All for $1749. Can anyone help me with this decision?

Thanks

Thanks Pomacea. Do you have an opinion on WXGA? My question is, does it absolutely suck as far as notebook gaming goes, or would it suffice. I know about the resolution factors and all, just wondering if maybe you've seen a WXGA and have an opinion.

Gaming on WXGA is pretty cool if the game actually supports the 1280x800 resolution, but most likely it won't, so you'll end up with either a stretched horrible image since the scaling distortion is very apparent on a lowres panel, or you can run the game at 1024x768 unstretched which makes you feel like you're playing it on a 13" laptop. I think stick with a 15" 4:3 screen if gaming takes priority over watching movies. But even if you were a movie buff, you'd plug the laptop into your tv to watch a movie right?... I'm sure there's a reason everyone is on the widescreen bandwagon, I just haven't figured it out yet.
