this is useless without telling us what you did.

What do you mean 7800gtx? Modified inf? O/C'd to what? Unlocked what?

I can post a 6000 score, with it being completely meaningless.

And theres no such thing as 8.3.40

Driver - Windows XP / 2000
ForceWare Release 80
Version: 83.40
Release Date: January 5 , 2006
WHQL - Yes
International files included - Yes
Setup Files included - Yes

Driver installed as a 7800 GTX. Ran at 62 DegC.

I would like to see a score of 6000 and how you achieved it.

I never said that I did achieve it :P 62 is hot, but still safe I guess. Btw, did you use a laptop modified ini, or did you just go straight ahead and install the desktop version? It would be weird that the desktop version would recognize a mobile card as a standard pc gpu...im just wondering if any damage would result from the notebook installing as a 7800gtx

Physically still a 7800 Go, you can load whatever drivers in you want but it won't change the speed of the card. Speedwise a 7800 Go = 6800 Ultra, but lower power. I can post SS's of my 7800 GTX with 6600 GS drivers and it'll still post a 7500pt 3dmark05 score!
